Is cost of personal dance training worth its investment?

Whether you are beginning with dance steps of Salsa, Latin, Ballroom, Swing, Tango or Argentine, you will have to prefer any one of these choices – group dance lessons, semi-private dance or personal training. Well, they all have their own benefits and disadvantages. Whether you are looking to improve yourself with dancing or you are a beginner to dance, you will have to prefer any one of these after considering their pros and cons.

Pros and cons of private dance training
Either singles or couples, they can get coaching or individual trainings in personal training classes. The benefits of personal training are:
1. Whole attention provided by the trainer.
2. Best opportunities for learners to argue and ask any question freely.
3. With direct assistance by the trainer, you can learn much faster than the learners in grouped classes.
4. Greater improvements in lead/follow skills and precision.
5. The instructor can fine-tune postures and frames and other techniques very easily.
6. The instructor can pay greater attention on styling and nuance.
7. This is quite a robust choice for learning wedding dance.

Some cons of private dance classes
1. Expensive as compared to group classes especially to learn some basics.
2. Since you are alone to learn the dance steps, there is always difficulty to practice floor craft.
3. This lacks in social bonding as well.

Pros and cons of Group classes
For the beginners, this is relatively the best option because of improving social bonding with others and it can give a first-class experience of dancing. Also, there are other benefits of group dancing including cost-effectiveness.

On the other side, there are some demerits of group dance classes. First and foremost disadvantage is that you may not get proper attention of dance tutor as you need because the tutor’s attention is divided in a large group. In addition, this is highly stressful and challenging for sophisticated people in a group scenario.

Pros and Cons of semi-private dance classes
In your hometown, there may be some dance studios that offer semi-private dance classes to small group of couples or dancers i.e. two to five couples or dancers. The merits and demerits of both private and group dance class are shared by semi-private dance classes. Let’s have a look:
1. The instructor tends to pay more attention on each individual.
2. Allows the learners to learn faster.
3. Allows you to focus on one specific level or dance.
4. This is also helpful to develop your skills for a presentation dance or performance.

In Conclusion
Because of different benefits of private and group dance lessons, many dance studios offer combined program of private and group dance. In order to match the needs of an individual, the dance class can be rearranged in many dance studios. This is available to improve the skills of individuals of training and dance performances. In order to match with the needs of fast-track training, the dance studios also offer personalized training classes on weekends. In order to focus on a specific level or dance, private dance lessons is quite very much beneficial for the individual.

  1. When you think of Ballroom dancing
, you generally think of flowing gowns and dark tuxedos. You also think of beautiful, willowy, women and tall, dark, handsome men waltzing their way around the dance floor.
