Quickstep: Everything you need to know about dancing and music

Due to the television shows and competition booms in this modern era, the ballroom dancing came into existence with great popularity and interest. Being the excellent form of complete body exercise, ballroom dancing is said to be the strong cardiovascular and strength exercise for the muscles. Quickstep Bloomfield requires fast-paced footwork and lots of energy and the best type of ballroom dance. From the craze of Foxtrot and Charleston dances, the Quickstep came into existence in the 1920s. Similar to foxtrot, quickstep is said to be the dubbed form of quick foxtrot. The dancers in quicksteps are required to maintain moving and kicking of the feet in an upright position at the rapid rate with the beats of music.

Steps of quickstep
The 4/4 quickstep dance is performed with the kicking of legs in which both leader and the follower should stay in the rigid and upright position in the dance. The dance starts from the closed position of both the partners along with facing legs from one another. Quickstep includes both slow and quick moves on the dance floor. Slow-quick-quick is the basic quickstep music rhythm in which jazz and swing music tempo is required to be played that is perfect for it.

1. Begin with standing with each other at the angle of 45 Degree.
2. For the male partner, take the right foot forward with taking the slow step and then turn right at the same time. Both you and your partner should start with the rhythm of slow-quick-quick steps throughout the dance.
3. Take left step from the side and then right with the quarter turn. Listen the tempo of the music and then turn to make it natural.
4. Both the left and right foot should be closer with the quick 1/8th turn.
5. With sliding towards the right, pull the heel and make 3/8th turn towards the right. The slow part should be your first move of slow-quick-quick rhythm pace. 

Music of quickstep dance
You can also add your own moves by performing much better on the dance moves of quickstep. You can also add more intricate turns and arm moves after learning the basics. Without the motivation and beat of music, this is quite difficult to perform in order to propel you forward. You can add any music which has 4/4 beats into quickstep. You can also add some songs like “Mack the Knife”, “I Won’t Dance” and “Suddenly I See”.

This idea helps the beginners to learn from the initial stage. You can become a good dancer from the initial stage by watching the dance moves in “Shall we Dance”.
