Dance moves in mambo dancing to groove on the dance floor

In the 1940s, Mambo Montclair came into existence with its popular form in Cuba within the responsibility of Prado Perez. Mambo dancing looks quite sensual with the Cuban dance moves. Being the most popular dance form in the United States, Mambo dancing is loved by Americans when Prado Perez with his orchestra visited America in the year 1951 and create New York peoples crazy and he was become the Mambo king. After Rumba, Mambo was the second most popular ballroom dance performed in most dance competitions of New York. The twists and turns of the dancers are thrown on their arms, hands and legs in the air with the mambo rhythms.

Dance moves of mambo
Basically, mambo is 4/4 dance form and out of every 4/4 beat, there are no moves on the first step. The dance form is generally followed on the rhythm of quick-quick-slow music beats. The dancers start swaying their hips while stepping forward and back. These swaying moves look like a fluid swaying with the motion followed by the music. The fast-stepping mambo looks very much like another popular ballroom dance – cha-cha-cha. The moves of mambo dance look very much like salsa but this is quite different. Here are the steps of mambo:
1. First of all, you guys have to place your feet together with facing one another.
2. Hold your partner’s waist by placing your right hand on it with extending your right hand. Face up your palm to your side and bent your arm.
3. Hold on the hand of your partner loosely and wait for a while until music starts.
4. Don’t move after first beat and take a right step towards backside on the next beat and shift the weight of your body over your left foot.
5. After listening fourth beat, go straight with right foot and bring both of your feet altogether and shift again the body weight on your right foot.
6. Wait for the fifth beat and shift body weight on your left foot again and go straight after hearing sixth beat.
7. After hearing the seventh beat, shift the body weight on your right foot. On the final and eighth beat, lift your body weight on your left foot and take a step back and bring both feet together again.

When the male partner dances, the female partner does exactly opposite her moves. The female dancer is the follower who follows the lead. In this way, she takes steps backward when he moves forward.

Conclusion
The best part of mambo dancing is that it is lively dance style and full of energy. The dance genre is popular all over the world nowadays.
